Dr. Steven Tavarez Ulloa was born and raised in New York, United Sates, later on became a graduate as MD at the Technological University of Santiago (UTESA), in the Dominican Republic, where he later moved to the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina to take his Postgraduate as a Specialist in Psychiatry at the Maimonides University, serving his practice at the José Tiburcio Borda Interdisciplinary Psycho-assistance Hospital.

Dr. Tavarez has done a Superior Course of Clinical and Treatment of the Pathological Game used by the Government of the city of Buenos Aires, as well as Diploma in Psychotherapy and Epistemology, are added to its formation. He is currently a member of the International Foundation for the Development of Neurosciences (FIDN) where he serves as a member representing the Dominican Republic.

He is also a member of the Dominican Psychiatric Society; North Branch (Psiquinorte). With vast experience in the area of psychiatric emergency, acute and chronic diseases, Dr. Tavarez builds a Doctor to Patient relationship with patient to make sure the Patient has the best care possible

  • Conducting history, physical exams and mental status exams on assigned patients.
  • Completing intake assessments and formulating diagnosis.
  • Developing and presenting treatment plans to the multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Ordering all necessary laboratory and radiological assessments.
  • Initiating consults and referrals as indicated.
  • Psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy as indicated in the treatment plan.
  • Maintaining effective and up-to-date documentation of patient encounters in HER System
  • Participating in professional and administrative activities as assigned.
  • Admitting, evaluating, diagnosing, treating and providing consultation to patients of all ages, except as specifically excluded from practice, presenting with mental, behavioral, addictive or emotional disorders, e. g. psychoses, depression, anxiety disorders including but not limited to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder,Traumatic Brain Injury, substance abuse disorders, developmental disabilities, Sexual dysfunctions, and adjustment disorders.
